Alana and Essaith, with Z'ek on board, flew low over the bowl rim and slowly glided down towards the entrance of the hatching sands, where Mamua had just landed.

Ri-Ri watched as the Silver landed, and as Essaith glided in. The queens eyes were flecked with orange, she was clearly annoyed.

Z'ek hopped off Essiath and looked around at the until-then-unused-and-empty sands. "Other Weyrs' queens may be troublesome, but at least Callie and P'salo will have weyrlings to train afterwards."

"If word gets around of this, we are going to be flooded with requests. I honestly dont see why so many are apposed to setting up a hatching weyrhold in southern, it would be far easyer that flying around begging with a gravid queen. Or just preventing the flight from being sucsessful, even that is better than begging." Alana was getting effected by her queens mood. If her eyes told her mood as a dragons does, her eyes would be flecked orange too.

Ri-Ri sped to a trot to catch up to Z'ek and Alana. "So what have I missed here? Are you TRYING to make unprepared Weyrlings by cutting short their Candidate training!"

Z'ek sighed. So much for a happy evening meal... He hoped Betha and the candidates were making their meal now... Z'ek groaned as he saw Ri-Ri heading towards them with a scowl on her face. After she spoke, he got a deeper scowl than her's on his face. All he and Alana needed more of: stress. "Ri-Ri, this isn't the time."He said, grabbed Alana's arm and pulle dher in Mamua and the Silver's direction.

Alana willingly was draged towards the Silver, mouthing sorry to Ri-Ri.

Ri-Ri huffed and headed towards the caverns. She would check up on the candidates and tell them.

"Your WELCOME."Z'ek said crossly at Alana. Her mood was affecting his, though he wasn't as grouchy as she was yet.

As the aproached the Silverrider, Alana composed herself.

"There is sleeping quaters within the hatching sands, and I am sure you Silver is happy to sleep on our sands. We will send a drudge for you at dinner, till then, just make yourslef comfortable." She cringed. Essaith was very cranky that she wasnt the first to clutch on the sands.

Callie glided on Aliath down into th sands. Aliath landed softly on the brightness of the sands and then tensed when she saw a strange silver. Callie felt a moody but also curious streak go through her dragon. She dismounted and walked over to Alana. "WHat's going on?"

Alana lowered her voice. "This queenrider has no place to clutch, so we are giving her a place in exchange for our candidates having the chance to impress the eggs. Any that impress stay here."

Mamua lead her queen into the sands. The head penitraited her thick riding boots and made her feet uncomphortable. She headed towards one of the sleeping rooms, which was directly behind an area desegnated as a hatching spot. There were several of these, to seperate clutching queens, to a degree. She smiled as her gravid queen laid down and sighed.

Callie shifted uncomfortably. "But.. What about.."She started awkwardly as Aliath walked up with a moody "hmmmph" before laying a few dragonlenghs from Essiath. "I mean... How can the queens stand it? Aliath even is grumpy.... I think she wants to rise soon too..."She scratched her head and sighed. This was a mess.

Alana felt the same discomphort as Callie. "Well as much as I hate it too, they can put up with it. They are more a danger to each other that she is to them right now. We have pleanty of room on the sands, so as long as not everyone rises at the same time, we are all good. Well, sort of."

She looked up at Z'ek. "Do you want to go have some Klah? It feels like its been a whole day already, and your gonna have to go talk to the high reaches weyrleader now. Didnt they just have a leadership flight too? And that high strung F'sel and bronze Xaveth won. I liked G'diten better, a much better leader"

Alana reaslzed she was talking too much, and pursed her lips. She always talked too much and craved Klah when Essaith began to approach her flight. She hoped nobody else noticed.

Callie looked curiously at Alana. Having never seen Alana's Essiath rise, she was curious if Alana's actions/words had anything to do with it. Aliath herself had only risen once, failed to rise once as well, but Callie had absolute hatred for the dragon who caught and his rider, and preferred not to think about it."Will Essiath rise soon?"She asked Alana casually.

Alana smiled weakly. "I think that the presance of a clutching queen that doest belong here has made her proddy early. She is proddy for a while though, around two months, before she rises.

She wiggled her fingers into Z'ek's, and looked up at him pleedingly. "Can we please get some Klah?"

Z'ek laughed inwardly at Alana's expression. He had forgotten what her proddy attitude was like. "Alright, alright, we'll get some klah."He said, stifling a chuckle. "Lead the way."

Alana playfuly pulled at Z'ek's arm, once he got moving she held onto it as if dor support. She turned her head back to Callie "You joining us?"

Callie looked up in suprise. "I guess."She said and looked back at the still-grouchy Aliath. "Don't start any fights, Aliath."SHe said, and then walked over to join Alana and Z'ek.

Essaith had been sulking at the weyrlake, and came up to her golden friend. >>I dont like it, I dont want to share my sands with her<<

She flicked her tail in discust and made sure the silver could see her eyes from within the sands.

Aliath's tail flicked in rthym with Essiath's. >>I like it as little as you.<<She said. >>You know, Callie never said I couldn't fight, she just said I could't start it...<<Aliath got an uncharacteristic glint in her eye as she foudn a loophole to her rider's order.

Essaith had a similar glint in her eye as Aliath, but that soon faded. >>She has eggs, to harm her is to harm her eggs...<<

Essaith snorted. The puny silver was taking up the room that Cobalts two golds would soon need. Even if there was "pleanty" of room on their sands, she didnt like to share it.

>>Plus, the bronzes will go beserk if golds fight. You saw with your own eyes what happened to Harweth and Kenjath when they Harweth trod on Kenjath's egg, and they fought, not even all the golds on Pern could stop Kenjath from killing Harweth, and then needing her leg taken off. Then there was a whole clutch of eggs that died from neglect<<

Aliath snorted. For once she seemed to have the gold fury streak. >>Why are you protecting her now?<<She demanded. >>Come on, Essiath, she's clutching the first clutch.. of YOUR weyr!!<< Her eyes were dark, blood red, as she tried to work Essiath up, she was working herself into an even greater fury.

>>I am NOT protecting that silver runt that is stealing my sands!<< Essaith's eyes flashed red and orange. >>I am protecting the unborn dragonetts that will fight thread for this weyr come the pass!<<

She saw the silver poke her head out of her nook. >>AND if you DARE think your gonna be welcome here ever again after this, YOU ARE WRONG" She roared at the silver, everyone in the weyr became visibly shaken.

Essaith slinked back towards the weyrlake, tail twitching madly. >>Come Aliath<< It was more an order that request.

Aliath heard loud and clear that was an order, but instead she sat back on her haunches. >>Why should I?<<She asked, being reckless as she got increasingly aggitated.

Essaith spun round and reared on her back legs, using her tail and wings for balance, bellowing threadenly. She outsized even Aliath, and was much more experienced in queen scraps. >>Becuse Aliath, I am your SENIOR, you are my JUNIOR, what I say is LAW!<< she lunged at Aliath, pulling back at the last seccond having only possibly nipped her. >>Now, come with me, or you will fail to rise again because I wont LET you<<

Aliath jumped back and roared. >>Why should I follow one who will not put the REAL law-breakers in their place?<<She asked, unconcsiously getting in a crouch, reayd to spring away again.

>>Becuse you know as well as I do that I can not disobey what Alana tells me to do! She says the puny silver will clutch on our sands and hatch her eggs, then she shall.<< Essaith snarled in a way that resembled a smirk.

>>But she says nothing of what will happen to her AFTER the eggs hatch...<<
