Humble Beginings (All Joiner)

Taking off, Alana lead the riders into and above the valley, slowly gaining altitude. She pulled on her goggles, and signled for Callie and Z'ek to fly with her. "Can you tell T'ston and Taziath to lead the others after us, and give him directions"

Essaith rumbled. >>Taziath, Alana wants you to lead the others "Between", Here is the destination<< She showed Taziath the weyr, she knew he had never been there himself yet and didnt want him to get lost.

>>And wait a little after us before you come.<<Zenath added.

As Alana did final in-fligh checks with Essaith, she heard two little *Pops* as her Flits appeared to travel with them. She smiled and opened a travel bag attatched to Her straps, and the two flits landed in it and curled up.

She nodded to Z'ek and smiled. "Go!" Essaith trumped loudly to tell everyone that she was leaving. Then they went "between".

Unable to see, hear, taste or feel. Total numbness. The only thing you can feel is the extreem cold and the pressure in your lungs as you hold your breath. For eight terrifying secconds you stay there, suspended, motionless, sensless, in "Between".

Callie and Z'ek quickly folowed Alana "Between".

As they poped out of "Between", Alana sighed with releaf. Looking behind her, she saw the other two also reamerge. The poor weyrling girl looked terrified!

She sighed again at the sight of her beloved Weyr. The huge hollow doubble volcano had been the perfect site for a weyr, and the sourounding land was perfect for holds. She cold not imagine why their ansestord had not made a Weyr here already.

Eva looked up as a bunch of Men approached. They wore Sailor knots, so she knew it was time to go. She could see the ship, "Dawn Lady", was in the port and the crates were being loaded onto it.

Rose quickly pack up she knew she was late. "Florath you are going to have to fly quickly so we can meet up with the others. It's not good that we are already behind schedule."

>>>Don't worry to much Rose I know I'm going to have to fly faster to catch up to the others.<< Florath said.

Rose grabbed what she packed she went outside and nodded at Florath who laid down to allow Rose to clime onto her. Once she was strapped in Florath stood up and unfolded her wing and took to the sky.

After flying for what seems like a little while they spots the others.

"Hi everyone." Rose said, as loudly as she could.

Florath went into a dive to catch up to the others. Once leveled with the other she straighten up so she could fly straight on again.

"Sorry about that had to take care of some duties and lost track of time." Rose said.

Callie patted Aliath on the neck and hopped off onto the ground beside the new weyr as Z'ek did the same. She helped Annabelle down and then helped Aliath open the crate Beth was in. As soon as it opened, the little copper hopped out with a disgruntled shiver. >>I don't like that thing!!!<<She complained loudly.

Z'ek patted Zenath and walked towards Essiath. "Shall we go tour it before the others arrive?"

Alana dismounted gracefuly from Essaith, and turned to her mate.
"They will only be a few minutes, we need to be here to greet them"
She fiddled with the colar of Z'ek's Riding jacked, it had become twisted slightly on the Journey. "Besides, I like the view here just fine". She leant up and kissed him sweetly on the lips.

Essaith turned her head to the sky. >>They are comming<< Alana sighed and took Z'eks hand, leading him to the edge of the cliff to watch the others arrive. At the last possible moment she would relase his hand though.

"Florath it time to get into formation" Rose said.
>>>Right Rose<< Florath said.
Florath nods and flies over next to T'ston.
Rose smiles at T'ston.

Meanwhile a young male carrying his travel pack is ruining Blue flit.
"Come on Sky we are late." Alan said.
The Blue flit nods and start running faster with Alan by his side.
Soon they saw the boats in sight.
"We made it let get on board Sky." Alan said.
Alan and Sky board the boat. Sky follows Alan to where they where suppose to be on the boat.

"Hey Rose."T'ston said with a smile. "How are you and Florath?"He asked, the question aimed partly at Rose and partly at Florath.

K'vin flew quietly to T'ston's right for the flight. He looked behidn him and made sure everyone was in formation.

"Alright Alana. Who will we get settled in first though?"He asked her as all the duties they had to do before the boat arrived flashed through his mind.

Callie grabbed Annabelle's hand and led her to Alana and Z'ek and stood a few feet from them. "So what did you think of the ride Annabelle?"

"It was... Interesting...."Annabelle replied, choosing her words carefully. "Beth!"She called her dragn over to her as the adults walked over and rested their heads on the ground beside their riders.

"We should assign everyone a weyr first, then unpack the food we brought" Alana motioned to the food packs that had been straped to everyones riding straps "Then see to the dragons, get settled in and then eat"

She could hear squeening from her stap bag... her flits wanted to getr out. She walked quickly over to the bag and opened it, and the two flits jumped out, Bree curling around her neck and Rusty flying over to Z'ek to greet him. Alana walked back to the cliff edge and waited with Z'ek for the others to arrive.

Z'ek looked up as he felt something on his shoulder, to see Alana's Flit Rusty sittign on his shoulder. "Hey Rusty."Z'ek said and patted the squirming excited Flit gently. "Once the others arrive, why don't we let them eat dinner early and you and I go look aroudn and find where to put eveyrone and everything?"He asked Alana. This was a very exciting day.

T'ston checked everyone was in formation. "Alright everyone."He said. "Taziath know swhere to go, he'll send your dragons a mental picture for both of you."He said and paused while the dragon did so. "Now let's go, Alana and Z'ek are waiting!"He led the riders in Between with a loud POP!.
A few seconds later, they all arrived with a POP! on a cliff a few gold-lengths from ALana and Z'ek.

Rose turns here head toward T'ston.
"I'm doing fine. How about you? Sorry I was late taken care of some duties and lost track of time." Rose said.
>> I'm doing okay a little tired from the flight over here had to fly faster then we usually go.>>>Florath said.

Nods and soon Florath and Rose made the jump. Florath lands and Rose unstraps herself and slides off of Florath.

Hi Everyone! Rose call out to the group.

"Sure, but the dragons need to be cared for first, and we cant eat without food" Alana looked up as she heard the *POP* of dragons coming out of "Between". "They are here" She had a huge smile on her face.

P'alo grined as he saw the leaders below. He would have broken formation to greet them, if it wasnt such a bad example!

"Shall I send Callie and Anna with all the dragons to show them where to hunt?"Z'ek asked before the riders wlaked over. "That's soemthing Anna and Callie can do and that would leave you and I too take care of the riders."

"Sure, I know not everyone fed their dragons before leaving. They need to remove the food first and put it in the weyr" Alana smiled again. Z'ek's egarness was probably all he was running on, after sevendays of paperwork to move the volenteered riders to the new weyr.

Z'ek tried unsuccessfully to stifle a yawn, and then looked up and smiled as the riders all gathered in front of them. "Everyone, Alana and I have decided that Callie will lead your dragons to the hunt-place, and Alana and I will take the riders too the Weyr."He explained. Then he looked towards Alana, silently asking of she wanted to say anything.

Rose quickly unstraps the bags on her dragon dropping them with the other women.
"The food is in this one." Rose said pointing to one of her bags. "
I'll be back in a bit need to do something for awhile." Rose said.
Walking away from the group.

"Unload your food packs first, and those who have already hunted are to help bring them into the weyr" Alana started at Gie and Ri-Ri, she knew they had already hunted, but might use it as an excuse to explore.

"Gie, Ri-Ri, your dragons have areayd hunted, so you four stay and help us move stuff. All other dragons, please follow Callie to go hunt."He paused for a breath. "Riders whose dragons are hutning, come one at a time and Alana and I will give you an assignment."

P'alo nodded to his new weyrleaders, and walked back to Priloth, untied the many bags of food from his straps and brought them back to the weyrleaders.

"I'll see you after the hunt then" He bowed to his weyrwoman, and walked back to Priloth, mounted and waithed for Callie to take off.

Ri-Ri groned. More hard work. She went and picked up extra food packs and straped them to Ebith's straps, and took off, the overweighted dragon slowly gliding towards the weyr.

Gie followed Ri-Ri as they loaded up there dragons with extra food packs, she fitted more on Irilith than Ri-Ri did on Ebith, and followed Ri-Ri towards the weyr. They would be shuttling food for the next several hours...

Callie nodded to Z'ek and then had Aliath show the others their destination. With a pop, she led the others between to the hunting place.

After the others had left, Z'ek took Alana's hand again. "Shall we go look around and decide on quarters and where to store the food, etc.?"He asked her as their dragons snored quietly in the background and Alana's Flits flitted around the humans' heads.

Alana smiled and started leading Z'ek down the steep path that went from the cliff they were to to the weyr entrance. As riders they were used to this sort of terrain, as the ledges that went between close weyrs were similar, but they could spell disaster for any holder folk who were stupid enough to scale it.

Z'ek followed Alana down the path. "I hope people from our holds come another way!"He laughed as he looked around. This was his kind of terrain, the riders kind, but certainly not the holder-folks! He stopped at the main gates, for he had gotten a tad ahead of Alana.

Callie and the other riders popped out of Between and stopped beside the beginnings of a small forest. Where they were standing was a long flat clearing, a spot in the center where one of the new major holds, Rainstone Hold, would be made. "Riders, dismount and bring your packs over beside me."She directed. "Dragons, after your packs have been taken off, you are free to take to the skies and hunt. Eat your fill dragons, but do not waste the wildbeast. They will be more abundant when the weather warms. Dragons pleas ebe back in an hour too head back to the weyr. We need to get some work in before suset."SHe said to the dragons and then turned to the riders. "Riders, unpack your dragons and then wait by me. I think we should scout and fill our packs with firewood and food if we find any."She finished and went to undo Aliath's empty packs.

Alana soon caught up to Z'ek at the main gate. She looked at him with a huge grin on her face. "Shall we?"

She heard dragons overhead, probbly Gie and Ri-Ri, as she walked inside, grabing a glow from a basket near the entrance that the workers had left for them.
