Kitchen Duties

Betha looked up as a group of female candidates burst into the kitchen, chatting about some probably-non-existant silver queen supposedly on the sands. "Finally my help arrives!"She exclaimed crossly, looking up from the low amount of supplies she was tallying. She led all the candidates over to one corner and had them wash up, having dirty hands from candidate classes. She waited impatiently for them to finish. After getting their names, she set on enamed Nikita to making klah, Jasmine to cleaning dishes for tonight, Opal to making porridge, and one named Heather to cooking some bread. As soon as the food was done, it was dinner time.

Ri-Ri walked into the kitchen and nodded to the headwoman. "Candidates, I am sure by now you have seen the new queen by the sands. I would like you to know that she is gravid, and you will be impressing much sooner that we thaught. So you will have classes much closer together that normal so that you have all your classes before the hatching. Next class has been moved from next week to two days time, at dawn. Be late and you'll join Dung boy"

Nikita joined hte other candidates in groaning. Then she perked up. "Hey, cheer up guys!"She called "We get to impress a LOT sooner!"

Celena grumble to herself about having to get up early again. Though she grabs a towel and gets to work.

Betha walked around and checked all their work before grabbing a grumpy late arrival by the arm and pulling her over to Jasmine. "Dry the clean dishes Jasmine is washing."She resumed overseeing the candidates, scurrying around the room hurriedly.

Betha flipped the meatrolls she had put in just before the candidates came and walked over to the dish-washing pair. "You two, finish the dishes and then your dismissed."She said.

Celena finishes the last of her dishes. The she puts her towel down. "Glad that's over." She said to herself before leaving the Kitchen.

Betha nodded to Celena. "Don't forget to come tomorrow morning!"She called after her. Jasmine dried her hand and looked at Betha. "Good job, Jasmine, they're sparkling, Celena did good to. You're dismissed."She said. Betha didn't give compliments lightly.

Nikita looked up at Betha, rinsed off her hands. "If you'd hang around here, I have a job for you all."Betha said, and they all groaned. As the meatrolls and the sweetrolls finished, so did the bread. As all the candidates finished, she looked up to find them all waiting expectantly. "I need you to help bring the food to everyone's weyrs."She said.
