For most of this interval, it was peaceful and quiet, everybody keeping to themselves and trying rebuild their lives after threadfall. But then the old weyrs started to have problems, big problems.
Their Weyrs, most almost 4000 turns old, began to crumble. Many dragons and riders died when their weyr collapsed on them as they slept. Reluctant to move, the weyrwomen and weyrleaders decided that repair was the best solution. So over the pass, people continued to die from the unsteady weyrs.
Eventually though, young Queenriders and the youthful bronzeranks that flew them realized that these weyrs would not be good enough to continue living in, and that within a few generations, continued use would cause them to completely collapse. So some banded together to for new weyrs. The older dragonriders mostly did not wish to leave the place they had lived for so long, so stayed.
Among those young Queenriders who left to start a new weyr was our first Weyrwoman, Alana, and her Gold Essiath.
