Background: Coming from one of the few Wherholds on Pern, Nicky always knew she'd Impress a Wher. Her mother's Wher was the Senior Gold Wher and her father was the Whermaster of the region. She always had a talent with Whers, and none had ever attacked her, until she impressed Nisk. At the hatching, Nisk had killed 3 other hopeful candidates before getting to her, and almost killed her before impressing. If you were to see her stomach, you would see the scars left by Nisk's claws all those years ago.
